Storyfort was founded by Esther Doorly and Kelly McErlean to create highly innovative and experimental digital content and to publish their storytelling research.
Over the past 25 years they have produced award winning film, photography and theatre works in Ireland and abroad.
In 2000 they established the third-level education institution New Media Technology College. NMTC produced high-level training programmes for international broadcast organisations (Eastern Europe and North Africa) on behalf of the European Broadcasting Union, Geneva. Academic accreditations included Edexcel, EBU, London Metropolitan University, City & Guilds, FETAC & HETAC.
In 2011 NMTC produced animated 3D idents for the EBU and the Eurovision Song Contest. The Eurovision ident was broadcast to an audience of over 125 million people as part of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
Kelly's interactive story The Little Extras (2008) was a ground breaking work which constructed a new film narrative paradigm - each viewer's interactions altered their perspective within the story.
In 2018 Routledge published Interactive Narratives and Transmedia Storytelling which explores traditional narrative, VR, AR, audience interpretation, sound design, montage, transmedia storytelling, and more. See the Publications page for more info. Esther also offers voice coaching and accent reduction classes at The Elocution Room
